first day of teaching

Monday, August 20, 2012

AHHH! My first day of work! I was nervously waiting at Dullilia Kindergarten for the school bus with children on it to get to work. The kids kept asking me if I was Korean or Japanese. Then I busted out some Korean to them and they got all excited. They kept wanting me to speak in Korean. Anyways, work is work.  I won't talk much about work unless something exciting happens. But, my first day was exhausting. After that day, I started to get sick.

But here is my usual routine at work.
Teach four 30 minute classes until lunch.
Lunch/Tea time for an hour
Teach three 30 minute classes
Rest time
Snack Time
Planning/cleaning up time until the bus comes to pick us up at 4:40.

Overall, easy work day than teaching in Hawaii. But more hectic teaching the classes. Sometimes 30 minutes can seem endless when you're working with Kindergarteners who can't really understand what you are saying.
